Maximum body length runs from snout tip to tail end on the largest confirmed specimen. For fish, reptiles, and cetaceans, figures come from carcasses measured at landing or on factory-ship decks. For squid, mantle length is the standard; tentacle reach is excluded.

Like weight records, maximum length captures rare outliers well above typical adult size. All 48 species in this dataset have a confirmed maximum.
